I shot this family drama shot in 35 mm way back in 2001 aboard a moving train is one of my finest works. It was critically acclaimed by Chicago film critic Michael Wilmington. And I thought it was done.
But my amazing love and partner Elizabeth, whose judgement I respect greatly felt it needed more clarity about the trauma of the little boy getting bullied into calling his new step father “daddy.” And so I proudly present the remastered 2019 version of STEPS.
All songs are public domain Xmas music played by the Hawthorne Quartet for my use worldwide.
Here’s the link to the original 2001 version. Love to know which you enjoy more. – Director Ken Sheetz
